His stage name is the combination of the name of his favourite uncle and the stage name of Kid Cudi (whose real names are Scott Mescudi and Scott Mescudi), which is his first major-label contract with Epic Records. It reached the top of the Billboard 200. Following the debut of his hit single "Franchise" (featuring Young Thug and M.I.A.) in the year 2020, Scott became the first artist on the Hot 100 to have three songs reach the top spot within less than a year.
