Abi Clarke
In the past, i.e. in the early 2020s. In the olden days comedians would have had the expectation to play across the UK for many years before being invited onto a TV panel and selling an arena tour. It's not simple in the present. Comedy is a form of art which has managed to remain performed front of a live audience, but we won't have arena tours any time in the near future. But one comedian from Bristol has managed to connect with a global audience via social media lockdown. Abi Clarke didn't set out to become a global internet star. Abi Clarke, a 24-year-old who lives in Henbury along with her parents, created her first videos online to "build a community of similar people who would be interested in my stand-up comedy." "I was performing more shows in Devon to men aged 50 and older and I began making online videos in the hope to create an audience of like-minded people who would enjoy my stand-up comedy," Abi said.
